Bear Valley’s Season Going Well

Bear Valley, CA — Bear Valley Mountain Resort has been open for less than one month but has been enjoying steady crowds and steady weather.

The crowds are mostly thanks to local and Bay Area schools that are off for winter break.

Resort spokesperson Rosie Sundell says everything but the lower mountain, which sits at about 6,000 feet, is open.

The new Polar Express lift had its grand opening on December 23. It has a capacity to move 2,400 people per hour, nearly tripling the capacity of the old lift.

Sundell says more snow is expected on Thursday, which should keep the mountain open and skiers content.
