Chamber Recognizes Community Leaders At Installation And Honors Banquet

Sonora, Ca — The Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce celebrated its 100th anniversary Thursday evening at the Installation and Honors Banquet.

Hundreds attended the event held at the Sonora Elks Lodge. The event featured a question and answer session between Chamber President and CEO George Segarini and 1972 Chamber Board President Dr. Harvey Rhodes. The event was also an opportunity for outgoing Board Chairman Jim Costello to hand the gavel over to incoming Chairman Tom Berry.

Receiving the Citizen of the Year Award was Randy Hunsaker of Sierra Senior Providers, a non-profit company serving as the Tuolumne County Meals on Wheels provider. Hunsaker has been a resident of the County for 18 years and has spent most of his business life in California.

Dan Rule was recognized as the Entrepreneur of the Year for his leadership in growing Golden State Cellular. Rule has been on the Board of Directors for the Rural Cellular Association, a national organization, for the past eight years. He is also a past President of the Sonora Rotary.

Tweedy Tire was recognized with the Pioneer Hall of Fame Award for the company´s continued dedication to the Chamber of Commerce. On hand to accept was owner Don Smyth.
