Joie De Vie Raises Money For Cancer Patients

Murphys, Ca — $42,876 was raised over the weekend at the 8th annual Joie De Vie Gala held at Ironstone Vineyards in Murphys.

?It was wonderful,? says Chairperson Ed Haley. ?The people in this community are so giving and gracious. As people have become more and more aware of what this fund is used for, we´ve seen an increase in support.?

All of the money raised was placed into a Cancer Relief Fund to be used solely by Tuolumne County cancer patients and their families. It helps those that are struggling to pay rent, utility bills and other costs during their battle to overcome the illness.

Also at Sunday´s Gala, Pete and Sue Kleinert were presented the Irving J. Symons Award for their commitment to community service.
