T.U.D. Urges Water Conservation

Sonora, Ca — With water levels in storage tanks lower than expected, T.U.D. is urgently asking residents to conserve water this week due to ditch maintenance that began Monday.

?Unfortunately with this warmer weather, we are seeing people use more water than we were anticipating,? says Lisa Westbrook, T.U.D. Customer Service Supervisor.

The PG&E Main Canal that provides the primary water supply has been shut down for regular maintenance, and will remain that way until early next week.

Without water coming in, the only water available is what remains in the storage tanks and wells. Water levels are noticeably low in the tanks in the Crystal Falls, Sonora Vista, Willow Springs and Comstock Ranch areas.

From now until this coming Tuesday, T.U.D. is asking customers to stop outside watering, not wash cars and refrain from hosing down driveways.
