Meeting Will Discuss Calaveras Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

San Andreas, Ca — The Calaveras Office of Emergency Services will hold a meeting next week to discuss a plan that is being created to reduce the effects of natural disasters.

?The purpose of the Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan is to reduce the vulnerability of people and property in Calaveras County and the City of Angels,? says Lt. Tim Sturm with the Calaveras County Sheriff´s Department. ?These natural hazards include floods, wildfires and droughts.?

By putting together this plan, Angels Camp and Calaveras County will become eligible for mitigation funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The public meeting will begin at 1:30pm, Tuesday October 7th, in the Board of Supervisors Chambers.
