Sierra Century Bike Ride To Depart The Mother Lode

Murphys, CA — The 100 mile Sierra Century bicycle ride has bid a fond farewell to the Mother Lode.

According to the Stockton Record the recreational ride that called Ironstone Vineyards home for the past two years will relocate closer to Sacramento. The ride´s organizing body, the Sacramento Wheelmen, determined that high gas prices and steep hills in the Mother Lode dictated a change in venue.

1,800 riders signed up for the inaugural ride in 2007 but this year only 600 riders were on hand for year two of the event.
