Mendenhall Working To Create Volunteer Team At Police Department

Angels Camp, Ca — Due to the tight budget and limit staff, Angels Camp Police Chief Dale Mendenhall is looking for volunteers who would like to get involved with his department.

?We would like to have seven to ten volunteers we can count on to assist us with quite a list of things,? says Mendenhall.

For example, during the homicide incident at an apartment complex on Stanislaus St. in early June, Mendenhall says officers were on scene for as many as 30 hours. The Department could have used help bringing in supplies and transporting witnesses. Mendenhall says the Department also needs help with every day office work.

Anyone interested in volunteering must have a clean criminal background. You can contact the Angels Camp PD at 736-2567. Mendenhall says volunteers will typically work daytime hours.
