Pinecrest, Ca — A body located near Pinecrest Lake Thursday afternoon has been identified as 52-year-old Robert Gleason of Napa.
?A subject attempting to locate a cell phone signal to make a call for help for an injured hiker, reported that they saw a possible deceased person near Cleo´s Bath,? says Deputy Paul Tualla.
Cleo´s Bath is a popular swimming area at Pinecrest Lake. The Tuolumne County Sheriff´s Coroner´s Division identified the man as Gleason, who has been missing since August 8.
Gleason´s vehicle had been located in the 100 block of Rustic Dr. in Pinecrest back on August 10, and an extensive search was conducted by the Tuolumne County Search and Rescue Team, County Boating Enforcement and a CHP Air Unit.
Tualla says that officials have determined the cause of death to be a self inflicted gunshot wound. No foul play is suspected.
