Mountain Springs Opponents Given Time To Submit Sur-Rebuttals

Sonora, Ca — This afternoon the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors voted to delay continuation of the Mountain Springs Community Project Public Hearing until August 5th.

The decision not to re-open the hearing today was primarily so that the developers would have more time to respond to proposed changes that members of the Board have recommended.

This was one of two major decisions made regarding the project that would allow approximately 900 new homes to be constructed near the existing golf course.

Following the June 24th Public Hearing, residents had the ability to submit written comments about the project until July 7th. Board Chair Dick Pland announced that there are concerns by some in the community that many of the written comments were ?rebuttals.? To be fair, the Board decided to allow the opponents of the project time to submit ?sur-rebuttals.? The cutoff to turn in a sur-rebuttal to the County is July 23 at 5pm.
