$12,500 Raised At Cassina High Car Wash

Sonora, Ca — Sparkling clean cars left the Cassina High parking lot Friday afternoon as the students held a benefit car wash for 16 year old Cody Wright, who tragically lost two family members and all of his belongings as a result of Tuesday´s mobile home fire on Chicken Ranch Rd.

The amount of money raised has been tabulated, and Cassina High Principal Jim Roeber says the total is just over $12,500. The money will be put into a trust fund for Cody and his family.

Friday´s car wash ran from noon until 6pm. Roeber notes that many visitors did not even stay for the car wash, they simply dropped off a donation. Chicken Ranch Casino and Bingo donated $1,000 to the fundraiser. 57 year old Goldie Kerr one of the women killed in the early morning fire, was employed by Chicken Ranch Casino and Bingo. The other fatality was her 83 year old mother Nobie Partain.
