Tuolumne County Affordable Housing Ordinance Moves Forward

Sonora, Ca — An inclusionary housing ordinance is one step closer to going into effect in Tuolumne County.

On Tuesday, the Board of Supervisors approved the first reading of an ordinance that mandates that 10% of new developments include affordable housing if there are 10 or more lots with the project. The homes would then stay in the category for a period of 15 years.

A second reading of the ordinance will occur at the March 18 meeting. If it is approved, it will then go into law after 30 days.
