Summit Fire 100 Percent Contained

Santa Cruz & Santa Clara Counties, CA — As of Tuesday evening the 4,270 acre Summit Fire in the Santa Cruz Mountains had been 100 percent contained but not controlled.

This fire has destroyed 31 residences and 63 outbuildings. 12 firefighters have been injured out of the almost 3,000 that have fought this blaze which started last Thursday at 5:17am.

Estimated cost of fighting the Summit Fire now stands at $12.2 million. Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
