North Mountain Fire Now Covering 2,697 Acres

Sonora, CA — The southern California Incident Management Team Two is reporting the North Mountain Fire in the Groveland Ranger District has now burned 2,697 acres.

Containment is now 35 percent with still no definitive date for full containment of the fire that has spread to Yosemite National Park.

480 personnel are assigned to the fire in rugged and steep terrain. 11 hand crews, 27 engines, two dozers, seven water tenders and four helicopters are on site. Air tankers are on order.

Nine firefighters have suffered injuries to date.
