Family To Family Delivers Joy This Season

Sonora, CA – 210 families and nearly 600 children received food and gifts Saturday as part of the 23rd annual Family to Family Christmas project organized by Clarke Broadcasting and Benites Distributing.

Members of the law enforcement community, and others simply wishing to volunteer, delivered baskets to residents in need all across Tuolumne County.

Sgt. Glenn Roberts with the Sonora P.D. says, “When you walk up and give the families a present and the food, and see the smiles on their faces, it really sets off the Christmas season.”

Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Jim Mele says, “I wish everyone could see the joy that these kids have when they come to the door. They are so excited and full of joy.”

Over the past month, community members generously donated canned hams and gifts that were delivered throughout the morning.

Agencies that took part this year included the Sonora P.D., CHP, T.C. Sheriff’s Office, T.C. Community Service Unit and the Sheriff’s Posse.
