Phoenix Lake Road Bridge UPDATE

Sonora, CA — According to an updated announcement from the Tuolumne County Public Works Department the new Phoenix Lake Road Bridge will NOT reopen this afternoon at three o’clock.

This morning Senior Civil Engineer Bill McKenzie stated the bridge would reopen at approximately 3pm. However this afternoon Deputy Public Works Director Gary Taylor told KVML News the bridge will not reopen until approximately 5pm due to the installation of the guard rails.

Taylor is hopeful the project can be completed by tomorrow.

The revamped schedule, until the project is completed, is calling for the bridge to reopen at 5pm and then close at 8am.
