TCEDA Board To Take Over Responsibilities Of EDC And EPC

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority has agreed to take over the responsibilities of the Economic Development Company of Tuolumne County and the newly formed Economic Development Prosperity Council of Tuolumne County.

The Economic Development Company is an existing 501c6 non-profit who had actively worked on economic development in the county up until 2005.

The Economic Prosperity Council is a 501c3 non-profit whose focus is business education and education of the general public on the benefits of economic development to the community.

The EDA Board, which consists of Hank Russell, Dick Pland, Bill Canning, Dennis Dahlin, Jim Gianelli and Teri Murrison, will oversee the two additional entities.

EDA Director Larry Cope says the existing boards approved the transfer of responsibilities at their last meeting.

By having the 501c3 and 501c6 organizations, the EDA will now be eligible to pursue additional forms of grant funding.
