S.R.T. Selected To Receive Stimulus Funds

Sonora, CA — The California Arts Council has selected Sierra Repertory Theatre to receive a $20,000 grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"It is to reinstate a position in the costume shop," says Sara Jones, S.R.T. co-founder. "Last year when the economy took a big dip, we had to cut back quite a bit in the shop."

Only 28 arts organizations were selected to receive the federal funding statewide, so Jones says this is a great surprise for the community.

S.R.T. has around 30 full and part time staff members.
