Firefighter Memorial Set For Courthouse Park

Sonora, CA — The Firefighter Memorial Ceremony is set for noon today at Courthouse Park.

According to the U.S Fire Administration, a division of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), 73 firefighters have already lost their lives in 2009 through October 2.

Recently the arson set Station Fire in Los Angeles County claimed the lives of Tedmund “Ted” Hall and Arnaldo “Arnie” Quinones.

Today’s ceremony will include the traditional Bell Ceremony as performed by an Honor Guard, a reading of the names of those who have been lost in the line of duty, bell tolling, bagpipe and bugle solo and the retiring of the colors.
