CAO Pedro’s Contract Extended For Five Years

Sonora, CA — By a unanimous vote of the Board of Supervisors Tuolumne County Administrative Officer Craig Pedro had his contract extended by five years this morning.

Pedro’s current contract, signed November 1, 2006, will expire October 31 of this year. The new contract will run through October 31, 2014.

Following the unanimous vote in favor of the new contract, Board Chair Teri Murrison commented, “I have not seen anyone work harder or longer or with more diligence and integrity than Mr. Pedro. I very much appreciate that. We don’t know what the next five years hold but I am confident that you (Mr. Pedro) will be scrambling to stay ahead of every challenge that comes before this Board and I appreciate that very much.”

Second District Supervisor Paulo Maffei commented, “We benefit so much from Mr. Pedro’s services that it’s unbelievable. We could not function without his knowledge, his judgment and his extreme dedication to his job. I absolutely appreciate what he does.”

From Fourth District Supervisor John Gray, “It’s been a very educational and a very good experience these last few months and I want to thank Craig for helping me along with some of these chores. I know we need to spend more time together and we will do that, but I’m appreciative of the help he’s given me so far.”

And from the Fifth District, a light hearted comment from Dick Pland, “Are you sure you want to do this for another five years? That’s five more budgets.”

First District Supervisor Liz Bass had no comment on Pedro’s performance or his new contract.
