Y.C.C.D. Faces $4 Million Shortfall

Columbia, CA — The Yosemite Community College District is dealing with a projected $4 million deficit for fiscal year 2009/10.

“For Columbia College, that means a deficit of $607,000 for 09/10,” says Roe Darnell, YCCD Chancellor. “That’s about a five percent cut in the operating budget for unrestricted funds.”

Community Colleges across the state are dealing with shortfalls because of cuts being handed down from the state. Y.C.C.D. includes Columbia College and Modesto Junior College.
