Hayward Resident Arrested On Sunday DUI Charge

Sonora, CA — 20 year old David Chapman was arrested on a DUI charge early Sunday afternoon following a single vehicle rollover on the four lane section of Hwy 120.

The Hayward resident was westbound when the accident occurred at 12:10.

According to the CHP report Chapman was traveling at a high rate of speed while under the influence of alcohol and a type of stimulant, perhaps methamphetamine.

According to Officer Tom Wills Champman allowed his vehicle to exit the roadway where he hit a ditch. His 2002 Toyota then rolled three times coming to rest on the left shoulder of the #1 lane of Hwy 120.

Chapman suffered moderate injuries. He was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto and then placed under arrest.

According to the CHP report his passenger, 28 year old Jill Yim of Oakland, suffered major injuries but this afternoon she is reported to be in fair condition at Memorial Medical Hospital in Modesto.
