County Providing Sand For Possible Flooding

Sonora, CA–  With heavy rain showers forecasted late Tuesday afternoon and into Wednesday, flooding has once again become a concern in the Mother Lode.

Tuolumne County OES Coordinator Kathleen Rustrum says emergency sand will be available for residents at three locations.

Sand, to help with isolated flooding, can be picked up at the Columbia Airport on Airport Road in the back of the parking lot, in Tuolumne at the Road Yard on the corner of Birch and Baker Street, and in Big Oak Flat at the intersection of Highway 120 and Wards Ferry Road. Residents are asked to bring their own bags and shovels for the sand.
