Homeowner Awakened By Burglars

Valley Springs, CA– Calaveras County Sheriff’s deputies are currently searching for two men suspected of burglarizing a Valley Springs residence early this morning.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a residence on the 2000 block of South Petersburg Road at around 1:00 am. The home owner reportedly woke to find two unknown men inside the residence who took property from the home and fled the scene.

Deputies performed a search of the area and were able to recover some of the victim’s property. Sgt. Fordahl and his K-9 partner from the Angels Camp Police Department also responded and were able to track the suspects until their scent was lost in the Hogan Lake area.

The suspects are described as two men wearing dark clothing. One man was wearing a dark color jacket and the other male suspect was wearing a black sweatshirt. The case is still under investigation.
