San Andreas, CA — There was a fatal accident in Calaveras County over the Thanksgiving weekend.
The CHP reports that an unidentified 66-year-old Martinez woman was driving on Highway 49 near the Calaveras-Amador County line. Due to her unsafe speed she lost control of the 2007 Volvo and slid into the opposing traffic lane. The vehicle struck an oncoming PT Cruiser driven by 46 year-old Cindy A. Reading of Valley Springs. Reading suffered major injuries and was taken to Sutter Roseville Hospital. The unidentified Martinez woman was fatally injured. The accident was reported at 8:36pm on Friday.
