Ski Resorts Set To Open

Sonora, CA — Both Dodge Ridge and Bear Valley plan to open in the coming days.

Dodge Ridge has received 50 inches of snow over the past two and half days and plans to start running six chair lifts on Wednesday and will have 40 percent of the terrain accessible for day one. Then starting on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, Dodge Ridge anticipates that all eight lifts will be running and 80 percent of the terrain will be open.

“With the best November snowfall totals in 10 years and consistently cold temperatures, Dodge Ridge has been blessed with the best early season conditions for skiing and riding,” states Sally Helm, Dodge Ridge CEO and President.

Bear Valley reports that 70 inches of snow has fallen over recent days and plans to open its season on Friday. 100 percent of the front side of the Mountain should be open by Friday morning and additional terrain will open as conditions allow.
