Big Oak Flat Project Clears Hurdle

Big Oak Flat, CA — The Southern Tuolumne County Planning Commission has okayed plans to build the Big Oak Flat Village Center on Highway 120.

The project was endorsed by the commission Wednesday evening and is now expected to go before the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors early next month. The Gaudenti Partnership, LLC. hopes to build a 48,000 sq. ft. retail center comprised of six buildings. There would be two retail shops, two restaurants, a grocery store and a home improvement store. The developers also plan to build a 17,400 sq. ft. motel/cabin complex, a 12 pump gas station, and a 200,000 gallon public water tank.

The project site is 17867 Highway 120 and 17790 Harper Road, on the south side of Highway 120. The property is currently zoned for Light Industrial Use and the developers are asking that it be changed to General Commercial.
