Daylight Saving Time Ends Sunday

San Andreas, CA– With Daylight Saving Time ending this Sunday, the Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit of Cal Fire is recommending that everyone change the batteries in their smoke detectors.

To keep smoke detectors in proper working order,  it’s important to test them on a monthly basis and to change the batteries twice a year. Since dust and cobwebs can impair sensitivity, smoke detectors should also be vacuumed once a year.

Proper installation is important.  Smoke detectors should always be installed in hallways that lead to sleeping areas, basements, and each additional level of your home.

This weekend clocks will need to be turned back one hour for Daylight Saving Time.
