Businesses Evacuated For Suspicious Bottle

Sonora, CA — The Sonora AT&T store on Old Wards Ferry Road, and surrounding businesses, were evacuated yesterday afternoon after a suspicious looking bottle was found in a cell phone recycling bin.


The Sonora Police Department reports that the bottle was filled with an unidentified liquid and had a tinfoil cap. The Calaveras County Bomb Squad was called in and removed the bottle. It was first located at 3:32pm and the businesses were reopened at 5:14pm. It is not known what was in the bottle.
