Chavez Appointed Warden

Jamestown, CA — Governor Schwarzenegger has officially appointed Frank Chavez to the position of Warden at the Sierra Conservation Center.


Chavez, 61, had been serving as acting Warden since 2009. Chavez served as a correctional administrator at SCC from 1997 to 2008, and then as acting Chief deputy Warden from 2008 to 2009.


Schwarzenegger’s appointment does not require Senate confirmation. Chavez will receive a salary of $129,108. Chavez fills the role that was previously held by the now retired Ivan Clay.
