Man Reportedly Killed In Dog Attack

Mountain Ranch, CA — A Mountain Ranch man has died after reportedly being mauled by two pit bulls.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 6900 block of Doster Road yesterday and found 69 year old Jerry Yates unresponsive. The Sheriff’s Department believes that Yates was killed by two dogs that were roaming the area. The owner of the dogs, Sheryl Sellers, has been arrested and booked into Calaveras County Jail. One of the pit bulls was captured and taken into custody by animal services.

The Sheriff’s Department says that Sellers faces charges of “allowing vicious animals at large.” The death was reported at 5:20pm.
