Lawn Mower Causes Fire

West Point, CA — A riding lawn mower was the cause of a Tuesday vegetation fire in West Point.

CAL Fire reports that the lawn mower struck a rock in dry grass and it started a one acre fire in the 30 block of Stanley Road. The fire was first reported at 11:17am. CAL Fire resources from Columbia Air Base, West Point, Standard and Pine Grove responded. Local resources from West Point Fire also assisted. Firefighters were on scene until around 2:30pm.
