Primary Election For Cox’s Seat

Sacramento, CA — A primary election to fill the seat of late Senator Dave Cox is scheduled for November 2nd, the same day as the general election.

A special election will then take place on January 4th if no candidate wins more than 50 percent of the vote. Cox passed away on July 13th at the age of 72. The dates were set by Governor Schwarzenegger’s administration. Cox’s District One Senate seat covers 12 counties, including Calaveras.
