Passport Prices Increase

Sonora, CA — It now costs considerably more to get a basic passport to travel overseas.

According to Tuolumne County Clerk and Auditor Debi Russell, a nationwide price hike goes into effect today. A first time U.S. passport book for adults has increased by $35 and now costs $135. Renewal of a U.S. passport for adults has increased by $35 to its new price of $110. A passport for anyone under the age of 16 is increasing by $30 to $105.
Passports are available through Russell’s office.
