Fireworks Caused Vegetation Fire

Groveland, CA — Fireworks have been ruled the cause of a Friday evening vegetation fire at the bottom of Old Priest Grade.

According to CAL Fire, it started at 6:45pm and burned five acres. The dollar damage estimate is $1,000.

Old Priest Grade was closed down Friday evening. It remained closed until late Saturday afternoon, as a precaution, while crews monitored for hot spots.

The case is under investigation.
