SRMC Debuts New Technology

Sonora, CA – Sonora Regional Medical has new technology available for cardiac and cancer patients.

SRMC has purchased a new Philips Bright View ECT SPECT CT. The nuclear medicine camera allows physicians to view changes in tissues before structural change occurs.

“Sonora Regional Medical Center is only the third hospital in California to operate a Philips Bright View XCT SPECT CT, with 50 in the United States and only 100 in the world,” says Jerry Kurtz, Director of Diagnostic Imaging, cath lab. “With this advanced technology we will now be able to provide improved and more efficient services to the community.”

The single photon emission computed tomography is designed to cut procedure time in half, and help patients to avoid an unnecessary biopsy or invasive surgery.
