Sierra Nevada Winter Storm Warning Issued

The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for the Sierra Nevada above 6000 feet until 4 pm Saturday.

Five to twenty-four additional inches of snow accumulation is expected above 6000 feet.

According to the National Weather Service, snow levels range between 6000 and 7000 feet.

Snow showers may also be accompanied by thunder and lightning on Friday afternoon.

Winds of five to forty mph will continue with gusts up to eighty mph over the crest of the Sierra.
