Alleged Vehicle Thief Captured

Jamestown, CA — An alleged vehicle thief was captured during the eleven o’clock hour this morning near the Yosemite Junction of Hwy 108/120.

According to C.H.P. Officer Mike Buller a blue 1992 Dodge Dakota pickup was stopped on Hwy 108/120 east of the Yosemite Junction. When the plates were checked the officer learned the vehicle had been stolen this morning in the Waterford area.

The male driver of the pickup then exited the vehicle and ran southbound into the open countryside.

Additional C.H.P. officers were called in along with deputies from the Sheriff’s Office and within 10-15 minutes the perpetrator had been captured and placed under arrest. A C.H.P. helicopter had been contacted to assist.

At this hour the identity of the perpetrator has not been released.
