Explosive Device Arrest

Arnold, CA — An Arnold man was arrested this week for grand theft and possession of an explosive device.

38-year-old Billy Pinks Jr. was taken into custody by the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department at the intersection of Hwy 49 and Dogtown Rd. in connection to the theft of aluminum from an Arnold business.

Prior to transporting Pinks Jr. to county jail, deputies searched him and found a co2 cartridge. After closer examination deputies discovered the cartridge contained black powder, and deemed it as an explosive device.

Pinks Jr. remains in custody in county jail.
