The “Before” And The “After”

Twain Harte, CA — Ever noticed the "before" and the "after" of a fuel reduction project?

Within the past couple of weeks Baseline Fire Crews from the Sierra Conservation Center were assigned a fuel reduction project on Hwy 108 between the west and east Twain Harte entrances.

Over the years conifers had grown creating a fire hazard in the immediate area.

This photos provided by CAL Fire show the "before" and "after" of the fuel reduction process.

At the same time CAL Fire Battalion Chief Barry Rudolph reminds ALL residents there is no better time than the present to create that 100 feet of defensible space. Every such effort will reduce the risk of fire and provide a higher level of safety for firefighters when they are on the job.

Click CAL Fire for information on creating defensible space.
