It’s All Downhill in 2010

Bear Valley Mountain has already gone over its’ projections for the number of skiers and snowboarders for their season-to-date.

Marketing Manger Rosie Sundell comments that the mountain is now in full time operation (7 days a week).

Sundell was Friday’s KVML "Newsmaker of the Day".

According to Sundell, "Bear Valley is really nice because we have the village with restaurants and shops … even a general store and a post office. In the resort we have three restaurants with a bar that serves food. We also have a bus that runs from the Village to the ski resort."

Season Pass prices were lowered from last year and Sundell credits that move with the highest amount of season pass sales, in the past five years.

Sundell said the first snow arrived before Christmas, which was critical for a season based business, and the crowds of skiers have been welcoming new snow every weekend since mid-December.

The "Newsmaker of the Day" is heard each weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:47, 7:47 and 8:47am.
