Rotary Sponsor Exchange Student Program

Sonora, CA– Local Rotary clubs are now recruiting high school students to participate in  a foreign youth exchange program.

Clubs will sponsor German, English, Brazilian, Italian and Spanish programs for students participating in the summer of 2012.

The program is sponsored by Rotary District 5220, which includes over 2,300 members in eight counties in the Central Valley and Mother Lode. This program has been taking place successfully for over thirty years.

To qualify, Mother Lode students must be between the ages of 15-19 and live or attend school in Calaveras or Tuolumne County.  Students do not have to have a family member in Rotary to be selected for the program.

“The Rotary exchange program is a wonderful opportunity for high school students to experience another culture and make new friends. Students come back from our exchange programs with a different vision for their future,” said Tuolumne County Rotary member Sam Wheeler.
