Attempted Burglary At Calaveras Baseball Field

Valley Springs, CA — Calaveras Sherriff’s Dispatch Center received a call at 8:30 am on November 15th that there was suspicious activity at the Clay Pits Baseball Field. The reporting party told dispatch that it appeared that an adult male was trying to pry the door open to the snack shack.

When Sherriff’s deputies arrived they spoke with James Brackett who was walking at the ball field. The deputies located a pocket knife in Brackett’s pocket that seemed to match pry marks on the door of the snack shack. Based on Brackett’s statements and physical evidence deputies took Bracket into custody for attempted burglary and trespassing.
