Firefighter Remains In Serious Condition

Copperopolis, CA — CAL Fire Captain Sue Arrouzet is still listed in serious condition after being injured in a Copperopolis house fire.

Officials report that Arrouzet, 45, remains in good spirits at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto and is surrounded by family and co-workers. She will likely be transferred to a San Francisco hospital for recovery.

Arrouzet was injured after the roof of a home in the Saddle Creek subdivision collapsed while officials were putting out the blaze on Friday night. A review into the accident is ongoing. Two other firefighters sustained minor injuries and were treated and released.

Arrouzet, who lives in Tracy, is a 22 year veteran of CAL Fire. She is currently assigned to the Copperopolis CAL Fire Station.
