Why Increase Water Rates?

Sonora, CA — A proposed increase in T.U.D. water rates will be discussed on Mother Lode Views this weekend.

General Manager Pete Kampa will discuss T.U.D.’s current fiscal situation, and talk about what will happen if the rate increase is not approved.

A notable increase would be the minimum monthly service charge for treated water customers going from the current $27.06 to $40.64, effective January 1st. T.U.D. says the average estimated monthly charge for treated water customers would increase from $40.56 to $50.06.

A public hearing on the rate proposal is scheduled for December 7th in the T.U.D. meeting room.
