T.U.D Director Resigns

Sonora, CA– A Board of Director with the Tuolumne Utilities District has resigned.

During Tuesday’s T.U.D meeting, Joseph Day announced his resignation because of residency issues. Under state law, he could only remain on the board temporarily while living outside of the county.

In April he moved to Stanislaus County because of better employment and housing opportunities.  Joseph Day had served on the board since 2006.

T.U.D District Engineer Tom Scesa says what the next step will be in filling the vacancy on the board.

“As we’ve done in the past for other vacancies, the district will advertise for interested persons in the community and we will accept their resumes and letters of interest,” Scesa said.  “Then the board will review those applications and then make a selection. That selection will be made from the majority of the board vote.”
