Sonora, CA — A man was hit by a vehicle on Highway 49 near San Andreas.
The CHP reports that 47-year-old Ronald Sickmann of San Andreas walked into the westbound traffic lane of Highway 49 last night, directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by 51-year-old Pamela Hopkins of Mountain Ranch. Hopkins slammed on the brakes, but was unable to avoid Sickmann. The CHP reports that Hopkins was traveling at the posted speed limit. Sickmann was transported by ambulance to an area hospital. He reportedly suffered moderate injuries.
The incident happened at 7:55pm.
