Tuolumne County’s Best Revealed

Sonora, CA– The 2011 “Best of Tuolumne County” award recipients have been announced.

Every year the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce presents the awards during its annual Installation and Honors Banquet at the Sonora Elk’s Lodge. The event this year takes place Friday, November 18th.

Award winners were nominated by individuals and businesses throughout the community.

This year’s recipients include: Black Oak Casino General Manager, Ron Patel for Citizen of the Year, Tuolumne County Counsel Gregory Oliver for Excellence in Government, Thilo Bendix from Mr. Electric for Entrepreneur of the Year and Sonora Elementary Teacher, Mike Miller for Teacher of the Year. The Student of the Year award winners are yet to be announced.

In addition to the award ceremony, the Chamber will also be installing new directors and officers. They include: Chairman of the Board, Chris Caldwell, Chair Elect, Margaret Davis and Past Chair, Alicia Wuebker.

The “Best of Tuolumne County Awards” has been a tradition since 1921.
