Road Closure In Forest

Tuolumne, CA — The Forest Service will close Buchanan Road (1N01) in the Stanislaus National Forest for over a month.

The roadbed slipped as a result of last winter’s heavy rain causing a landslide situation below the road. The Forest will close a 120 foot section of Buchanan Road approximately 1,200 feet west of the Hunter Creek Bridge, seven miles past the intersection of Fish Hatchery Road (Cottonwood Road) in Tuolumne County. It is in the area near the Riverside Day Use Area.

The closure will begin on October 24 and work is expected to last until November 29.
