Garbage Rates Increase

Sonora, CA — Waste Management customers in Tuolumne County will pay a little more for garbage collection.

Customers in Franchise Areas 1 and 2 will pay 2.43% more based on the Consumer Price Index.
For example, the price for one can service has been $24.75, and it will now be $25.35.

The changes were approved by the Board of Supervisors with a 4-1 vote. District Three Supervisor Evan Royce voted no, noting that he was unhappy with the structure of the Waste Management contract. The current contract is in place through 2022.
