Revised Boundary Maps Released

Sonora, CA — The revised political boundaries were released today by the state’s Citizens Redistricting Commission.

Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties will become part of the same U.S. Congressional, State Senate and State Assembly district. The two counties will likely see new leadership in Congress and the Assembly. 25th District Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen lives outside the boundaries, as do Congressmen Jeff Denham and Dan Lungren.

However, Oakdale is included in the revised mountain county Senate District, which is where District 14 Senator Tom Berryhill resides.

California Senate and Assembly candidates are required to live in their district, but the rule does not apply to U.S. Congressional candidates.

A final vote on the new maps is scheduled for August 15th. More information can be found at the Redistricting Commission’s website found here.
